From a Corn Field
to a Big Apple
Hi there! Welcome and many thanks for stopping by to check out my site. Here are 10 fun facts about me that you didn’t ask for, but I’m going to give you anyway:
I’m from Yankton, South Dakota. A very small town in the southeastern tip of the state. The population is under 13,000 people. My family spent a lot of time at my grandparent’s farm in northern South Dakota. The nearest town was Frederick and the population is currently 203 people (it’s grown since my childhood!). Having a big imagination is essential for a kid living in rural America!
My red hair is natural and I’ve never dyed it. In fact, my sister is also a redhead and my parents were too (in their younger days)!
In Kindergarten I wore ALL black EVERY day. It was in protest to my parents painting our childhood bedroom Pepto-bismol pink.
I love animals and I’ve always been known as a kitten whisperer in my family. I had a knack for taming the farm cats (still do!). Put me wherever there’s an animal and I’ll be happy!
My first job when I moved to NYC was an elf for Macy’s Santaland in Herald Square and I LOVED IT. My name was Nutmeg!
I’m a self proclaimed introverted extrovert. I love love love people, but man, do I love hibernating at home and watching Golden Girls reruns, too.
I’m a major foodie and I will try any food at least once! The one food I can’t seem to resist no matter the season? Ice cream.
I can dance! I started dance classes when I was 3 and have always loved movement. By Broadway standards I’m probably considered more of a ‘mover’ (triple pirouettes aren’t really my forte), BUT I'm quick at learning choreography and I love to bust a move. I regularly attend a variety of dance classes at The Studio at Hoboken — it’s my happy place!
My love for music came from my dad. He is a pianist, organist, singer, and composer.
I was shy growing up. Like, wouldn’t even ask to go to the bathroom type of shy. Theatre is what brought me out of my shell and shy is definitely not how I (or anyone) would describe me today!
So in short, hey new friend! If this blurb has made you want to learn (even) more about me, let’s connect and collab!
